| The Moscow born lyric-spinto soprano Marina Karpechenko, is a soloist of Helikon-Opera and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. She graduated from the Gnesin Musical College and then continued her studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, where she also completed her postgraduate studies. Among her teachers were L.I. Dianova, A.P. Petrov, A.A. Davtyan, T.N. Chachava, and A.S. Sibirtsev.
In 1994 she was invited to work at the Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon-Opera". Since 1997 she has been a leading soloist of the theatre after a successful debut in the most difficult part of Aida in the opera of the same name by G. Verdi. On the stage of the theatre she has also performed the roles of Lady Macbeth and Alice Ford (Macbeth, Falstaff by G. Verdi), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart), and Fata Morgana (The Love for Three Oranges by S. Prokofiev). In 2013, for the performance of the part of Isabella in R. Wagner’s opera "Das Liebesverbot" M. Karpechenko was nominated for the "Golden Mask" award in the category of "Best Actress in an Opera". Among the last significant events in the singer’s creative biography is the main role in the premiere performance of the Helikon-Opera theatre’s production of “Turandot" by G. Puccini under the direction of V. Fedoseev.
She took part in the International Music Festival in Salzburg (Austria), the R. Muti Summer Music Festival in Ravenna (Italy), the Diaghilev Festival in Groningen (the Netherlands), the Saaremaa International Festival (Estonia), the Bartok International Opera Festival (Hungary), the Janacek International Music Festival (Czech Republic). In 2006 she recorded the premiere performance of selected songs by G. Mahler, orchestrated by B. Tishchenko.
She has toured France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Austria, USA, Israel, China, Lebanon, The Netherlands, and Denmark. Has performed in such theatres and concert halls as the Théâtre des Champs Elysees (Paris), Queen Elizabeth Hall and Albert Hall (London), Dante Alighieri Theatre (Ravenna), etc.
M. Karpechenko also conducts an active concert career, performing in the best halls of Moscow: the Great, Small, and Rachmaninov Halls of the Conservatory, the P.I. Tchaikovsky Hall, the Moscow International House of Music, the Russian National Museum of Music, the museum apartments of S.T. Richter, N.S. Golovanov, and A.B. Goldenweiser. She has collaborated with such conductors as V. Fedoseev, G. Rozhdestvensky, A. Vedernikov, T. Currentzis, E. Brazhnik, V. Ponkin, E. Mazzola and D. Iorio.
In 2005 Marina Karpechenko was awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Committee for Culture of the city of Moscow, in 2006 she was awarded the honorary title "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation" for her services in the field of musical art.
